About Us

Who We Are

Hope Housing Collaborative of Lewis County (HHCLC) is an organization of faith communities working together to help the unhoused of Lewis County. Our purpose is to provide safe housing in a community environment where residents are supported and encouraged to pursue personal goals, including those of permanent housing and employment. Our vision is to create communities where every guest facing housing insecurities has access to resources and opportunities they need to take steps toward their goals.

THE HHCLC is made up of four founding member churches, including: Chehalis United Methodist Church (Chehalis), Gather Church (Centralia), Harrison Square Presbyterian Church (Centralia), and Westminster Presbyterian Church (Chehalis).

Our Board Members

  • Jennifer Polley

    Harrison Square Presbyterian Church

"I’m passionate about the mission of HHCLC because it so fully aligns with the heart and mission of Jesus: to work with, love and see others as God’s image-bearers, and to share with each other the resources we have been given."

  • Mark McHugh

    Harrison Square Presbyterian Church

"I’m passionate about the work we're doing together, reflecting Jesus' invitation to call to life every person's dignity, worth, and value as people created in the image of God. This is the heart of Hope Housing Collaborative's mission."

  • Cole Meckle

    Gather Church

"God cares deeply for human needs, with a safe place to be, to rest, to sleep, and to recover being one of the most basic of those needs. Without housing options that meet the actual needs of those in our communities who are suffering today, life becomes increasingly confusing, disorienting, and desperate. That’s why I am passionately involved with the work Hope Housing Collaborative is doing."

  • Beth Wilson

    Chehalis United Methodist Church

"My goal is to honor God daily through my words and actions.  Shalom Village is such an excellent opportunity to meet the needs of some of Lewis County’s often unseen residents that I jumped at this chance to love others for God by being part of building this community."

  • Zachary Taylor

    Chehalis United Methodist Church

"People in Lewis County - just like people everywhere - need sustainable housing, access to food and quality healthcare. HHCLC's focus on providing safe, adequate housing for those who need it most is why I'm passionate about investing in this work."

  • Kay Odegaard

    Westminster Presbyterian Church

"As a follower of Jesus, I am called to love my neighbor.  All of my adult life I have strived to protect the dignity of every person I can reach. What can be more dignifying than offering shelter to someone in need? HHCLC is helping me to be a good neighbor."

  • Patty Howard

    Gather Church

"Because everyone needs a place to belong and people who love them unconditionally - without strings attached - I'm committed to Hope Housing Collaborative's dedication to seeing the unseen; loving those on the margins in our region; and giving people a place to belong."

  • Joyce Carr

    Westminster Presbyterian Church

"I believe Jesus wants us to do what we can to help others. Since being involved in overnight shelters, first at Westminster Presbyterian Church in the 1990s and more recently in Centralia, I have had a desire to help those without a home."
